In addition to giving thanks for your family, friends, food, shelter, transportation, etc., be sure and give God thanks for your body. He has entrusted it to you and made you its keeper until He calls you home.
The Body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit
18Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. 19Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
I recently heard an analogy regarding the care of our body. Most people would not walk into a church or a temple and think of leaving garbage around. They wouldn’t fill it with trash. They would sense a caring approach to keep it clean, to honor the sacred space, to keep it holy.
God wants us to do the same thing with our body. It is His temple, His vessel, a part of His body … the body of Christ. Don’t trash it. Don’t destroy it. Rather love it. Care for it. Fuel it with healthy food and drinks. Move it so that it can grow stronger in order to serve others better – your family, friends, the church, the neighborhood, the community, the world, God.
With your healthy body you will have the endurance and strength to make a big difference. Won’t you start today, or at least right after Thanksgiving dinner?
Go ahead, I dare ya!
Have a fit & fabulous Thanksgiving! Make positive memories.
